Call for Student Volunteers

Participation in the 21st IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE’13) is a great opportunity for students to get in touch with the latest advances in the field of requirements engineering, and to meet and talk with leading academics, and industrial researchers and practitioners. Being engaged in the Student Volunteer program is also an excellent way of meeting other students from all over the world and to offset some of the costs of attending the RE conference. The success of the past RE conferences greatly depended on the lively participation of the student volunteers; their contribution shall also be critical to the success of RE’13.

Requirements & Responsibilities

Student volunteers must be enrolled in a Ph.D., Masters, or full-time undergraduate program at the time of the conference. They have to be able to communicate well in English.
Student volunteers are expected to be present during the entire week of July 15th - 19th, 2013 and to work about 15 - 24 hours during this week.
Student volunteers typically assist with: sessions, panels, and posters; manning the registration desk and checking badges for entry to events; and any other activities that keep the RE conference running smoothly.
Some student volunteers will also be needed the day before the conference starts for preparation work (Sunday July 14th, 2013).

Application Instructions

To apply for a student volunteer position, you must perform the following three steps by May 24th, 2013:

Fill in the student volunteer application form;
Send your Curriculum Vitae (CV) in PDF format to re.studentvolunteer@gmail.com. The e-mail should have the subject “RE13-Student-Volunteer-Application” and your last name (e.g., “RE13-Student-Volunteer-Application Souza”). After a few days you should receive confirmation that your CV and application form have been properly received;
Ask your academic advisor to send a letter of recommendation to re.studentvolunteer@gmail.com. Please note that this letter should be in PDF format and MUST originate from the e-mail you indicated for your advisor on your application form. This letter should include your name and confirm the program that you are enrolled in. It should also cover your organizational ability, English proficiency, and willingness to help others. The e-mail should have the subject “RE13-Student-Volunteer-Recommendation” and your last name (e.g., “RE13-Student-Volunteer-Recommendation Souza”).
